Who loves the smell of warm, fresh-baked bread in the fall? We do! That’s why we whipped up a batch of Hot Apple Spice Bread, and it was so delicious we had to share the recipe.

Ingredients : 

  • 250ml of milk
  • 3 sachets Harney & Sons Hot Apple Spice tea (ou 3 teaspoons of loose tea)
  • 440 g of all-purpose flour
  • 4 g of baking powder
  • 2 g of baking soda
  • 4 g of ground cinnamon
  • 2 g of salt
  • 150 g of butter room temperature
  • 270 g of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 60 ml of sunflower oil
  • 5 ml of vanilla extract
  • 12 g of rolled oats (optional)

 

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C. Grease a 22cm x 12,7cm loaf pan.
  2. On the stove or in the microwave heat the milk until near boiling. Add the Hot Apple Spice tea sachets into the milk. Allow to cool.
  3. Strain through a sieve, discard solids, and reserve milk.
  4. In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
  5. Cream together, with an electric mixer, the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  6. Add the eggs and mix until incorporated. Beat in the oil and vanilla extract.
  7. Gradually add the flour mixture. Stir in the tea brewed milk, mixing until the batter is uniform and smooth.
  8. Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan. If desired, sprinkle with the rolled oats.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool before cutting and serving.
